WHAT IS ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, WHO ARE WE ?
A.A. is a fellowship of people who have recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of body and mind by practicing the 12 Step Program of Recovery. We share our experience, strength and hope to help others recover. Our attempt to pass this on to others plays a vital part in our own recovery. We offer friendship and fellowship, if anyone wants to get well, we will do anything to help.
The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
